The reality of Ziyara is to deflect from other than whom we intend. If we truly intend Imam al-Husayn (AS) then we must realize that he is the very epitome of Islam. The more we revive Islamic values individually and socially, the closer we come to Imam al- Husayn (AS) and therefore our Ziyarat gains true meaning. The Imam sacrificed everything for the sake of submission to the Only Beloved. If we really want to show our devotion and love for him, then our actions should reflect submission to the Only Beloved.
