The Hujjat Saturday Workshop runs from 10:00am to 1:45pm every Saturday except in the months of Muharram, Safar and the Holy month of Ramadhan when the Special Workshops of Hujjat Imambara run Classes for children during the Majalis. The Workshop year begins with the school year in September. There are 26 Workshop Classes based on UK School Year Classifications. We request parents to join Namaz-e-Jamaat at 1.15pm as your presence makes a big difference to the learning of the children.
Workshop Curriculum
Fiqh: The syllabus is concentrated on teaching those aspects of Fiqh which are most relevant to the student’s life at his/her age. The priority is to ensure that each child has understood the topic fully with more emphasis being placed on practicality and case studies.
Tareekh: This is taught according to forthcoming events in the calendar. In the week prior to wiladat/wafat of Ma’sumeen (as), one aspect of their lives is studied. The lives of the other Ambiyya, Companions and Ulama are also taught.
Akhlaqiyyat: Our aim is to base our akhlaq teaching as one, which is inter linked with all the other subjects. Therefore, Akhlaqiyyat is taught in conjunction with the other subjects and not on its own.
Qur’an Recitation: Generally, we work in conjunction with Daily Qur’an Classes. We endeavour to teach the rules of recitation (Makharij and Tajweed) and to improve individual recitation.
Qur’anic Study: This is taught in conjunction with Arabic where a Surah is translated and its tafseer discussed.
Qur’anic Arabic: We use the textbook series – ‘The Keys of Understanding Qur’an’ published by the Office for Publication of Islamic Culture, Tehran.
Admissions: In the Pre-School Class, children are admitted in the term they will be 4 years old, only within the first two weeks of the term and at the discretion of the Class Teacher.
The Jamaat operates a Burial Fund (BF) Scheme whereby it meets all the burial related expenses within a set limit and within the current governing rules. The scheme is open to eligible households who make an annual up-to-date contribution to the fund. The final decision of awards rests with the EC.
Eligibility A household having at least one paid member of The KSIMCoL is eligible. The KSIMCoL Membership of that member must be current and up to date at the time of the application/renewal. The paid member in the household will be designated as a BF Member. A household is defined as a United Kingdom residential address in which eligible persons (defined as those who, when of age, would normally be accepted for The KSIMCoL Membership) permanently living therein are registered on the application/renewal form, and are permanently resident in the United Kingdom.
Contribution For the period 1st January – 31st December 2020, the annual contribution is: Single occupancy households: £120 Two or more occupancy households: £200 New Members – Phased in Benefit New eligible households will have the Burial Fund monetary benefit phased in: a 25% of the eligible burial costs for a death within one calendar year of joining; b 50% of the eligible burial costs for a death within two calendar years of joining; c 75% of the eligible burial costs for a death within three calendar years of joining; d 100% of the eligible burial costs thereafter.
An individual moving from an existing household, within a year of the move, to a new household, will not be regarded as a new application.
Benefit Benefit will be payable, subject to confirmation of eligibility, only to registered eligible households who are up-to-date with their BF contributions and KSIMCoL membership. A sum to cover the total actual office-hours burial costs, will be payable either to the next-of-kin or directly to the authorities, upon the production of a death certificate and an invoice/receipt from the relevant authorities, within 30 days of burial. The benefit will also extend to burials at other cemeteries; in this case, the benefit will be the actual total office-hours burial costs incurred, but will not exceed the upper limit of £6,810.
Beneficiaries The BF contribution will extend the benefit to the registered eligible BF Member and all registered eligible persons in that household, including eligible overseas guests, provided there is a Family KSIMCoL Membership. A Single KSIMCoL Membership (of a multi-occupancy household) will limit the benefit to that one person only in the household.
Multi-Residency in UK Eligible members from a registered household who, from time to time, move to other households (say in the case of parents moving to children’s’ houses) must inform in writing to the BF of the move, and must have the other households registered as an eligible BF household. This is for the BF benefit to be effective in case if death at the other household.
Renewal date The benefit is effective from 1st January – 31st December 2020. Eligible members may join at any time subject to payment of the contribution in full, but subsequent annual renewals will be on the 1st January of every year. Renewal letters will be posted to the BF Members in December of each year. There will be a grace period of 1 month (up to 31st January of each year) allowable for current renewals. If a current BF household has failed to renew their membership by 31st January of the renewal year, the Burial Fund reserves the right not to honour any benefit payments until the contribution is paid up to date; should a death occur in that household from 1 February this would not be covered
Re-joining Re-joining eligible households must pay any Burial Fund contribution arrears since first joined (at the current rates) before subsequent renewal
Confirmation letter All the household details will be computerised and a confirmation if the BF membership and details will be posted to the household.
Change of details Please inform the BF Admin staff, in writing, of any change of household details, like change of address, an eligible person and/or an eligible guest moving out of or into the household, etc. Failure to do so will jeopardise the payment of benefits.
Any Disputes The Executive Committee of The KSIMCoL shall have the final say in all matters relating to any query or interpretation of the rules.
Discretion and Other Benefit Payment Covers The KSIMCoL shall have the power to make benefit payments wherein such payments are deemed to be appropriate by the Executive Committee of KSIMCoL. In making such a decision, the Executive Committee of KSIMCoL shall have regard to factors including, but not limited to:
(i) the need and requirement of the individual member and his/her family; (ii) the general welfare and financial viability of the KSIMCoL; and (iii) any other factors which, in the opinion of the Executive Committee of KSIMCoL, shall be deemed relevant.

When death occurs in a family, the Jamaat through its Mayyat
Committee takes the responsibility of organising the funeral.
Service provded by the Mayyat Committee include transporting the
Mayyat to Hujjat Imambara-Stanmore, Ghusal, Kafan, Dafan and Siyaka
Majlis/Nyaz.
Please note that the family will need to obtain the burial
certificate before the burial can take place.
If the deceased is part of the Burial Fund, the fund will take
care of the bulk of expenses. However, please note that there are certain expenses
that are not covered by the Burial Fund, for example, if the Mayyat has to be
moved to a funeral director the cost of transfer and storage of the Mayyat is
not covered by the Burial Fund.
If the deceased is not an active member of the Burial Fund, the
Burial Fund will not cover the cost of the burial and related expenses.
Point of contact
As soon as death has occurred, please inform the Jamaat Office on

Death certificate
You are required to obtain two certificates (Death Certificate and
Burial Certificate – green certificate) without which no burial can take place.
If
death takes place at home–
Phone the GP, who in turn will either issue a Medical Certificate
of Death or may refer the case to a Coroner.
If Death occurs when the GP is closed, please ring 111. The 111
doctor will confirm the death and provide a ‘confirmation of death’ letter. You

carry out a post mortem and will then issue a Medical Certificate of Death. Please note,
that if the Coroner decides to do a post mortem, then you have no chance of
dissuading the Coroner. It is better if you request the Coroner to carry it out
as soon as possible.
Alternative to a Post Mortem you can request for MRI scan (There
is charge for it which the family have to bear and is npt covered by the Burial
Fund).
Burial certificate
On obtaining the Medical
Certificate of Death, take it to the Registrar nearest to the Hospital (check
with the Hospital) and register the death. The Registrar will then issue a
green coloured Burial Certificate (burial can only take place after you have
obtained the Burial Certificate).
If death has taken place in a hospital, sometimes a Registrar in
the hospital issues a white coloured Burial Certificate. Alternatively you may
have to register with the borough where the hospital is situated.
It
is essential that you bring both the Death Certificate and the Burial Certificate
to the Jamaat Office before the burial can take place.
Burial Time
Mayyat committee will arrange for the Mayyat to be brought to the
Imambara. Please bear with the Mayyat Committee, as they will not be able to
bring the Mayyat to the centre, unless the burial certificate has been issued
and a burial slot has been allocated. We do not have appropriate freezer
facilty to keep the body at the centre.
The timing of Burial will be confirmed after discussion with the family
and availability of a slot at the family chosen cemetery. After Namaz janaza,
the gents would accompany the janaza to the cemetery, whilst the ladies stay
behind at the centre. When the Gents return to the centre (between 1 and half
hour to 3 hours, depending on location of the cemetery), the Ziarat Majlis
takes place at the centre.
Please do let the Mayyat Committee know, if you want any of your relative
to recite, Quran, Yasin or Talqeen.
