2) Continuation of the Consideration of the proposed constitutional amendments submitted by Br Abul-Kassim Meghjee, and seconded by Dr Munir Datoo, on 26^th November 2014 pursuant to clause 12(i) and adoption thereof, if approved. Notice is hereby given that the 2014/1435 Annual General Meeting of the KSIMC of London will be held on Friday 27 June 2014 at 8.00 pm (registration to commence at 7.30 pm) at the Husaini Shia Islamic Centre, Wood Lane, Stanmore, Middlesex HA7 4LQ. “This body mandates the Executive Committee to stop all further efforts to start a community/faith based free school for our community until it has been instructed by the community to do so in the form of a resolution passed by this body to such effect. In particular, the cases for and against such a school need to be presented before the body and carefully considered.”

iii. THREE:
“It is hereby resolved that the general body empower the Executive Committee to purchase a house or flat for up to £500,000 as an investment within the vicinity of Stanmore.”

Dear Members, Salaamun Alaykum

For more than 5 years now, our community has been unsuccessfully trying for a new site and location in order to accommodate our widening breadth of activities as well as growing size of the community.

The onus of exploring opportunities has always laid on the elected Executive Committees that have been changing every two years.

Over the past two years, there has been considerable progress in charting out our needs assessment and the community is now in a comfortable position to proactively search for properties that would suit our requirement rather than retrofitting what becomes available in the market.

The current EC therefore proposes to appoint a committee that will not only survive the changes of the ECs, but also actively search for suitable alternative sites for our centre. Such a committee will comprise primarily of members who have expertise and experience in Project Management.

We are looking for a group of three to five members of the community who can display the following:
1)    Interest and passion for community affairs
2)    Background, profession, expertise and/or experience in project management
3)    Dedication – Estimated time would be running to several hours a week

The EC will Inshallah appoint an independent person to review the applications and form a team which will be announced to the General Body at the next AGM.

At the Special General Meeting of the KSIMC of London held on Friday the 10^th of May 2013 the following resolution was passed;
 
“It is hereby resolved to empower the EC to investigate further the possible acquisition of the land on east site of Arkley Lane, Barnet (Title # HD421899) and present back to the general body full details of such acquisition within four weeks of the date of this resolution, with substantive details to be distributed no later than seven days prior to such presentation”.
 
The Executive Committee has already begun work based on the above resolution and members would be notified of further development soon
